Length:1hr
The Effective Observations workshop presents participants with the foundational knowledge of observing children in an early childhood education classroom. This training will highlight the importance of observation as a multifaceted tool for teachers. Participants will understand how, based on focused observations, that does not involve formal assessment, documentation includes recording and interpreting the different skills and behaviors of young children (birth to age 7 years old) and using this information to then integrate children’s individual learning profiles. Additionally, participants will learn how observation is fundamental to the process of Making Learning Visible. In order to supplement learning, participants will have the opportunity to work with a variety of different observation tools, and take part in a hands-on experience of observing different classrooms. We highly encourage participants to take advantage of all of the resources and use them to plan for effective observations in their own classrooms in the future.
